Wildlife Haven in the Heart of Maine
Mooseleuk Lake
Location: T10 R9
· Set against the stunning backdrop of the Rocky Brook Mountains, Mooseleuk Lake is a large marsh lake that offers some of the best wildlife watching in Maine. Moose and other wildlife are frequently spotted along the shores, and the lake is part of a state waterfowl conservation project.
Anglers will find excellent trout fishing in the nearby streams and deadwaters, with a fly-fishing only stream within walking distance. The main lake is also full of yellow perch. This serene location includes two cabins for your exclusive use: a cook cabin with one full bed and two single beds, and an additional sleeping cabin with three double beds and one single bed.
For exploring the lake, you’ll have access to a 17-foot canoe, two kayaks, a small boat and a 17-foot square stern canoe. Accessible by 4×4 road or seaplane, Mooseleuk Lake is a photographer’s dream location, especially for capturing wildlife. However, please note that the area can be buggy from late May to early July.
