· Tucked away in the heart of the North Maine Woods, this peaceful cabin sits on a 100-acre, crystal-clear pond surrounded by towering pines and high ridges. The pond is home to lake trout, salmon, and brook trout, making it a prime spot for fishing enthusiasts.
This cabin serves as an excellent base for exploring the surrounding wilderness, with many nearby fly-fishing ponds and streams accessible via trails or logging roads. The Libby’s built this cabin in 1983. Located 50 miles from Ashland, the cabin is within 10 miles of Churchill Dam on the Allagash River Wilderness Waterway, offering further adventure opportunities. It is also the closest cabin to the famous “ghost trains” on the Allagash.
The log cabin features two bedrooms, each with a set of bunks and a full bed, along with a loft that includes two additional beds. For water exploration, you’ll have access to two 14-foot boats, a kayak, and a 17-foot canoe. A fresh spring brook provides drinking water. Situated between Churchill Dam to the west and Munsungan Lake to the east, this cabin is perfect for those looking to immerse themselves in the beauty of Maine’s remote wilderness.
For those with their own boats to trailer to other lakes such as Munsungan, Chase, Pleasant and Churchill are close by. Trolling or spin fishing for Salmon, Brookies and Lakers available.
