Historic Lakeside Cabins: A Fisherman’s Paradise

Clear Lake

Location: T10 R11

·        Nestled on the shores of a deep, crystal-clear lake renowned for its massive lake trout, white fish and brook trout, these two log cabins offer a tranquil escape with a rich history. This is the headwaters of the famed Allagash River. Originally built nearly a century ago for the J.P. Morgan family, these cabins have been thoughtfully updated, including a replacement log cabin built in 1998 by the Libby Brothers.

Located 50 miles from Ashland and accessible by 4×4, boat, or seaplane, the site is perfect for fishing and outdoor adventures. The Cook Cabin features one double bed and 3 single beds in one room, while the Sleeping Cabin offers one double bed and three single beds, making it ideal for two couples or larger groups.

Fishing opportunities abound on Clear Lake, Third and Fourth Musquacook Lakes, Upper Elbow Pond, and nearby Little Pleasant Pond, accessible via trail. At camp, you’ll have access to two 14-foot boats, a kayak, and a 17-foot canoe, with additional canoes available at Little Pleasant Pond. A nearby spring provides fresh drinking water, and the area is known for excellent bird hunting and swimming.
