Kepimets Lake Lodge
Kepimet Lake Camps Labrador
Imagine casting a light fly rod, skimming a deer hair mouse across the water, and having a trophy brook trout, landlocked salmon, whitefish, or lake trout explode to the surface. At Kepimets Lake Camps, this dream becomes reality.
Here, it’s common to catch 1-3 pound fish with nearly every cast, while also casting to the possibility of landing a 10-pounder. You’ll be pioneering two wild rivers in Labrador, virtually untouched, fished only by a select few. These are catch-and-release waters, where only six rods may be in use each week for just a few weeks each year. Trophy pike and lake trout are also caught regularly from the lake right in front of the camp.
Kepimets boasts a two-mile river inlet and a ten-mile river outlet, both teeming with brook trout and landlocked salmon, exclusive to our camps. Fly fishing is reserved for the rivers, while both casting and trolling are permitted on the lakes, which span 16 and 40 miles. This region offers some of the world’s finest wild brook trout and landlocked salmon fishing!
Previously reserved for the Libby Brothers and their guides as a personal retreat, Kepimets opened to the public in 2010. Visitors here are expected to treat the resource with the utmost respect to preserve its pristine condition.
Our camps provide a rustic yet comfortable experience, featuring showers, home-cooked meals, and seasoned guides to lead your adventure. Kepimets, set in the land of the Northern Lights and endless summer days, has seen many improvements over the years while maintaining its authentic charm.
This year, we’re offering a reduced-rate trip where guests will help with cooking and cleaning alongside the guides (no full-time cook is provided). This trip is perfect for those looking to set their own fishing schedules and who don’t mind sharing the responsibilities of camp life. Groups that reserve the entire camp will have the flexibility to create their own meal plans and schedules.
